Because we are a nationwide buying group , we buy directly from the manufacturers and get good rates – usually we are buying it at the same rates as Home Depot.

Sure, it’s great for that first time home buyer that just wants a typical red oak floor like everyone else has...but. Is it cheaper to buy your flooring at Home Depot? A few days ago, one of my friends called me and almost cancelled my appointment with her – she is redoing a whole basement and needs flooring for about 1,000 sq ft. I'm looking at vinyl tiles at both stores right now, and carpet at Lowe's. Other than that, I have noticed that they carry a wide price range of items within a product line, to suit what their customers want. In researching the vinyl tiles, I've noticed that H.D.'s store brand has a lot of excellent reviews. I have also noticed that both stores have the bottom of the line, inexpensive varieties that have problems. But I think that's more because of the PRICE and not because it's at H.D. Some of the vinyl tiles have complaints that the top layer will scratch off, pieces not be squared, the tiles iwthin a box won't match in pattern, etc.
Now that the flooring has been installed it is considerably darker than what I already have however she stated and it did appear to be almost a perfect match down the flooring aisle. I much rather Home Depot would have worked with the suppliers and us to come to a fair conclusion for everyone, but instead they decided it was best to waste not only my time but the time of the store employees. Two things have come from this experience, first I will drive by a Home Depot to get to a Lowe's in the future and second I will post a copy of this letter on any space that will have it. Of course we had a problem with a Thomasville floor, not something normally found in a car. He did not show up for the first appointment that he set up date and time for his convenience, then arrived on his second try with a preconceived conclusion as to what the problem was. His brilliant conclusion was although we had pads on each leg of each chair and pads on each leg of the table, they were not new enough and that made us reasonable for the damage. I responded by asking for the name and number of the District Manager .
